Alor Pothe Protibondhi Songstha is a Disabled Peoples Organization (DPO) working in Mirpur sub-district of Kushtia district of Bangladesh. The organization was established in 12 December 1998 being started involving 150 persons with disabilities with support from the ADD International Bangladesh, now the organization has total 350 members; among them 230 are men and 120 are women. The organization implements its activities ensuring equal participation of men and women with disabilities. According to bylaws the organizational activities are implemented by the staff and volunteers following the directives of the General Secretary/ Executive Director under supervision of 9 members’ the Executive Committee.

Through the direct involvement of the men and women with disabilities, the organization is working to promote rights of persons with disabilities and improving their lives with supports from government and non-government organizations. Besides, the organization is striving for partnership with the mainstreaming organizations for Disability Inclusion in their programs through ensuring active and meaningful participation of persons with disabilities as well as providing capacity building and technical assistance.
